Flash, The Tiny Teenage Tortoise Flash, the Tiny Teenage Tortoise. ‘A tortoise will never be homeless, he carries his home on his back. ‘ When Mary McClarey became the proud keeper of a tortoise called “Flash” it gave her the idea of writing a book which would raise funds for people experiencing homelessness. Yazmine Labban (a second-year art student and mother of three) offered to illustrate the book. Mary and Yazmine share a desire to help homeless people and those seeking to rehabilitate themselves. This collaboration has resulted in a children’s book which aims both to raise funds for Shekinah, Plymouth and also to raise awareness amongst the youngest members of our society; those who will, in time, have the most influence in shaping the future. Flash, the Tiny Teenage Tortoise, a small book (Like the Mister Men series) suitable for children aged between 3 and 6 years of age, is available now for £5.00. Free P&P included.
