I started volunteering in the Shekinah Charity Shop . . . I have achieved so much, my journey isn't over yet and I feel I still have a long way to go and a lot to give back to Shekinah, which I am very excited about.

Charity Shop

Re:store, A Shekinah Initiative

We currently have two charity shops in Plymouth where we offer not only interesting items for sale, but also further information about the work of the charity. All proceeds made from both shops are reinvested back into the charity and are targeted at a number of our front line services such as the drop in centre.

Our original shop on Union Street continues to serve the local area with quality high street goods in a fun atmosphere at very affordable prices. There is a wonderful walled garden to the rear of the shop where our clients are given the opportunity to grow flowers and vegetables which are then ‘ploughed’ back into the community. We are very much part of the Union Street community; working alongside other organisations aiming to regenerate the area.

Our newest venture is in Hyde Park House, Mutley Plain, where we provide Vintage and Designer items in a stylish and spacious enviroment. Our aim is to provide an enterprise opportunity by hosting exhibitions, fundraising events and craft workshops. We are working alongside the Mutley Traders community to help regenerate Mutley Plain as it is currently the second largest shopping area in the city.

As a small local charity, you can see where your stock donations help, all donations are greatly appreciated and have a postive impact on our work. By upcycling items, our waste is always kept to a minimum, pretty much everything gets used in a Shekinah charity shop. We always need clean clothes (vintage and modern); shoes; craft materials; entertainment items such as dvds and cds. Good condition small furniture items, bric-a-brac, children’s toys and games. It is possible to bring donations to either store and we will take care of sorting and sharing stock appropriately.
