"This is the first time in years that I've felt safe and ready to talk to people about my problems"

Accommodation

Leonard Stocks Centre is a 24 hour supported hostel service in Torquay which offers help to single homeless people and rough sleepers in Torbay. We accommodate up to 24 adults in the hostel, with all referrals being made via the Torbay Council’s Housing Options’ Team.

In addition to helping people move on into more permanent accommodation, we run activities to help develop life skills and self-esteem, promote healthy living and create opportunities for people to talk about their challenges.

We also run a rough sleeper outreach service and drop-in sessions at the hostel for people living on the street. This will enable them to access a range of advice services, shower/laundry facilities as well as a healthy breakfast.

“The outreach worker found me after walking around all night because I didn’t have anywhere to go. He showed me to the hostel and everything started looking clearer from that point”

“I don’t know what I would’ve done without the support of the staff. They’ve been like family to me and have helped me to get back on my feet again”

“I never thought I’d be able to get a job again because I was in such a mess. I’ve made my family proud again by sorting myself out, getting my own flat and finding a decent job. The hostel was the best thing to happen to me”
